Created by Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts, Zentangle® is a relaxing, easy to learn, and fun method of creating beautiful images using structured patterns. This blog is your link to learning the Zentangle method from me.
A spinner with over 60 patterns can help you select the next pattern you choose when you tangle. Last December, Rick and Maria released Project Pack 5 to create two spinners to be tangled with your favorite patterns. Along with it are several videos in which the Zentangle® team guides you to fill the spinner with tangles. These videos are free and still available.
Here is my completed spinner with some enhancements.
On Saturday, June 29, I will be presenting a workshop to help you create your own 11" by 11" black and white spinner on Fabriano Tiepolo paper (the same paper as the Zentangle tiles), which can then be filled with tangle patterns of your choice.
This is not a workshop to learn the Zentangle Method, so beginners are welcome. At the end of the workshop, if there is time, we will tangle and you can be introduced to tangling.
Zentangle is a fun, easy-to-learn, relaxing method of creating beautiful images using repetitive patterns. No drawing experience or special skills are necessary except an open heart and the ability to hold a pen. In this 2 ½ hour class students will create archival quality ink drawings on small paper tiles with Georgianna Klein, Certified Zentangle Teacher.
Note - Ages 14-Adult for this class. Sponsored by MICHIGAN COUNCIL FOR ARTS AND CULTURAL AFFAIRS and the NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS.
