Zentangle® in Grand Rapids, Nov. 19 and Dec. 3.
Each class be aimed at students who have had
at least two Zentangle classes, but may be open to others (with permission).
I call them Master Classes for two
reasons. I would like the students to
have a bit of experience with the Zentangle Method and to feel like an old master after taking one or both classes.
Master Class A
Rick and Maria introduced some exciting new ways of
thinking about tangling in their new book, Primer vol. 1, Reticula and Fragments. I have
been playing with these for several months and want to pass this on to you so
you can take your tangling to a new creative level. My background in
mathematics teaching should help me set tasks for you to explore these concepts
which have structure, symmetry, and integration at their core. No mathematical experience is necessary.
Master Class B
I will be attending ZenAgain, a workshop with Rick
and Maria to for Certified Zentangle Teachers, Nov. 13-16. They have promised us some surprises. Our second
workshop will focus on the new experiences I gather there and also explore Reticula
and Fragments.
One can register for both or either of the
workshops. The first is not
pre-requisite to the second. Both
require pre-registration.
Registration is required with deadlines, Nov. 12 for class A and Nov. 26 for class B. There is a $5 discount for registering for both by Nov. 19.
See detailed post below.

San Leandro Girl Scout Troup 33818 --Tanglers All
I had lovely time visiting the Brownies at Roosevelt Elementary in San Leandro, CA, yesterday. I was honored to be their guest to present a program on Zentangle® as a mindfulness practice. They were so focused, cooperative and enthusiastic, it was a great gift to me to be their teacher. And it was very special for me to experience firsthand what happens in a scout meeting with children this young. I was impressed. We spent only about one half hour on the actually ink part of the tangling.
Here is a mosaic of their work. It includes the work of three adults, including the leaders. I take responsibility for the poor photographic quality.

Please support Tanglepatterns.com
Almost all experienced tanglers rely on Linda Farmer of tanglepatterns.com in some ways. Her site is the mother lode of tangle patterns and guidance. I encourage all who use her site to go there and contribute support to keep this site going. You can do this by contributing $15 and getting the 2016 Tangle Guide.
This Guide is a .pdf file, which can be used as a printed or online visual catalog of all patterns published on the site, is also interactive in that clicking on a pattern takes you directly to the website, and shows you stepouts.
